About Us

The Bergen County Central Trades and Labor Council is the local organization of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). We represent the collective interests of 50,000 union members and their families and 53 affiliated unions in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Our mission is to improve the lives of working families - to bring economic justice to the workplace and social justice to our county. To accomplish this mission we will build a broad movement of workers by organizing workers into unions. We will build a strong political voice for workers in our county. We will change our unions to provide a new voice to workers in a changing economy. And, we will change our labor movement by creating a new voice for workers in our communities.
